PageMark Local Privacy Policy

Gobling Company built PageMark Local to save only the exact web fragments a user chooses. Selected quotes, optional notes, page titles, page URLs, colors, and timestamps stay in local browser storage, and Gobling Company does not receive browsing history or page content.

1. User-chosen Web Marks

PageMark Local stores only a web fragment the user explicitly chooses to save, plus an optional note, page title, page URL, highlight color, and creation time. These records stay in local browser extension storage on the user's device.

2. No Browsing History Collection

PageMark Local does not collect or upload general browsing history, untouched page content, passwords, form fields, account details, or other page data that the user did not choose to save.

3. Browser Extension Access

The extension requests webpage access so it can read the text currently selected by the user and restore an exact saved highlight when the same text remains on a revisited page.

Some protected browser pages do not permit extensions to run, and highlights can stop matching when a website changes its page text or structure.

4. Separate Practice Workspace

The host app includes a separate local practice workspace for sample marks, search, and Markdown preview. Practice marks stay in app storage and are not presented as a mirror of browser extension storage.

5. User-controlled Export

The user can copy local marks as Markdown or share practice exports through Apple's system sharing tools. The user controls the destination and is responsible for the data practices of any destination app or service they choose.

6. No Account, Tracking, Or Upload

PageMark Local has no account, subscription, in-app purchase, advertising SDK, analytics SDK, tracking SDK, cloud sync, AI service, or Gobling Company backend server for web marks.

7. Local Deletion

Deleting a mark removes it from local extension storage. Removing the app or extension may remove locally stored records, so users should copy an export before removal when they want to keep a backup.
