Kerfo support

Start

Import a static TTF/OTF or Kerfo.json from the top menu or Projects. Or open the optional Plex example from the empty first screen. The example is user initiated and SIL OFL licensed; the full license is in Help and its exports. Import never installs a font into the system.

Set and inspect

Raster settings offers size8–128px, padding1–8px, tracking-8–16px, smooth edges and custom glyphs. Choose1–256 distinct printable BMP scalars. Missing source glyphs are listed and excluded. Glyphs, Atlas and Proof show the same generated assets. Proof uses actual exported pixels and offsets; missing scalars are listed. Maximum400characters/8192px proof height, explicit warning if clipped. No kerning or shaping; combining marks are independent.

Keep work

Project actions offers Save preset, Saved presets, rename, duplicate and confirmed deletion. Library holds20 projects and each holds32 presets. Relaunch restores the selected project. Export a backup before deleting. JSON imports up to48MiB create an independent copy including source font/settings/presets.

Files

Build files writes Atlas.png, Font.fnt, Metrics.csv, Proof.png, Readme.txt and Kerfo.json. Example includes Font-license.txt. PNG uses white RGBA glyphs and transparent background; the dark atlas preview is not exported. FNT uses AngelCode BMFont text, one page, top-left coordinates, alpha channel and no kerning. Keep FNT beside PNG. Tap for native preview; some formats lack system renderers, but Share all / Save to Files works independently.

Limits and rights

Single static outline TTF/OTF32MiB,4096px atlas. No collections, WOFF, variable/color/SVG/bitmap font tables, SDF/MSDF, bidi, ligatures or complex script shaping. Specific engine compatibility is not certified. Import and export only when font licensing permits. JSON includes source font; redistribution permission is required to share it.
