Import and edit
Choose Import WAV files and select files through Android Files. The app copies originals into private storage. Edit description, originator, originator reference, origination date/time and first-sample count. Text labels use printable ASCII; dates use YYYY-MM-DD and times HH:MM:SS. Use Save draft to retain edits. Changing recordings or opening batch/library/help also saves the current draft; a force stop can discard an unsaved edit.
Timestamp and audition
The timestamp is an unsigned 64-bit sample count, not SMPTE frame timecode. Clock conversion uses the actual sample rate and an extra-sample value smaller than that rate. It changes the header, not waveform position or audio samples. The waveform is a sampled first-channel overview. Audition uses a temporary WAV containing the original format and unchanged audio bytes with other metadata omitted. It depends on Android decoder support and pauses outside the foreground; metadata inspection/export may still work for encodings that cannot be auditioned.
Batch and inventory
Batch originator applies one ASCII originator to checked recordings. A named preset stores that originator for reuse; manage presets in Help. Other draft fields remain unchanged. Save CSV inventory exports saved library drafts, source filenames, technical facts and original SHA-256 values. It is Reelmark’s own inventory format, not BWF MetaEdit CORE interchange.
Verify a copy
Verify copy writes a new WAV, reads its labels back and compares the audio and all non-bext chunks including unknown chunks and odd padding. Save WAV exports the tagged file. Save proof ZIP and Share ZIP include the tagged WAV, Verification.json, Verification.txt and Manifest.json. The displayed labels come from this verified copy. Later draft edits require a new verification to create a newer copy.
Supported formats and limits
Little-endian RIFF/WAVE PCM 8/16/24/32-bit and IEEE float 32/64-bit, including compatible extensible headers; bext v0–2. Up to 24 recordings, 12 named originator presets,256 MiB per source/output WAV and1 GiB private originals. Exports need additional device space and may add a bext header. RF64, Wave64, compressed WAV and signed C2PA are unsupported. Existing version,UMID,loudness, coding history,iXML and other chunks are preserved, not synchronized or recalculated. This is not authenticity certification or a promise of compatibility with every consumer.
Deletion and recovery
Help → Remove recording deletes the selected private original and draft. External exported files remain. Interrupted deletion keeps a pending cleanup record and can be retried in Help. An unreadable or missing library index pauses changes and keeps existing files. Try again after addressing device storage issues; when the original index exists, save it for support. Do not clear app data or uninstall before preserving important material.
