Import a screenplay

Use a nonempty UTF-8 .fountain or .txt file with INT. or EXT. scene headings. PDF, Final Draft/FDX and scanned scripts are unsupported. Cast cues are conservative suggestions. Add props and other elements manually.

Save your work

Save scene edits before leaving the editor. Handoff creates a current report; choose Save file and complete Android's destination picker. The app shows confirmation after the destination stream closes. Share opens another app; its delivery is not confirmed by Script Breakdown Local.

Back up and restore

Library → Save library backup exports JSON. Store it outside the app. Restore backup as copies adds independent productions without overwriting current projects. Original iOS JSON project arrays are accepted. Bad backups do not replace your saved library. If a stored library is unreadable, export the protected original, then explicitly replace it with a valid backup.

Continuity and readiness

Use the same element name and category across scenes. Conflict means different nonempty notes or unconfirmed uses; Watch means notes or scene readiness still need review. Clear is a record comparison, not an assurance of real-world continuity.
