Create and revise a scene
Choose New scene, enter a name and shot code, choose 12, 24, 25 or 30 fps and set 1–3600 frames. Add cues to Action, Dialogue, Camera or FX. Each cue has an inclusive start frame, frame count, exposure of 1/2/3, optional key-pose mark and note. Select a colored interval or use Timing cues to inspect every cue, including overlapping cues. Edit or delete cues and revisit the saved scene. Changing scene length preserves existing cue ranges for review.
Read the sheet and checks
The frame rail aligns four vertical tracks. Previous/Next moves through 48-frame ranges; scroll within a range. End frame = start + count − 1. Drawing estimate = ceiling(frame count ÷ exposure). For example, 25 frames on 2s yields 13 estimated drawings. Totals sum all cues across all tracks and are not unique animation drawings.
Uncovered ranges have no cue on any track. Overlap checks compare pairs within the same track; cross-track overlap is expected. Cues beyond the scene remain editable and are included in reports. These are planning observations and may be intentional. Seconds:frames is a whole-second quotient and remaining frames, not a decimal time.
Save and share
Handoff saves CSV and plain text through the Android document picker. CSV includes scene, shot, frame rate, scene length, track, cue, start/end, length, exposure, estimate, key mark and note. Formula-like text cells are prefixed with an apostrophe so spreadsheet readers treat them as text. Text reports include gap ranges and timing checks. Fields use English and preserve Unicode names and notes. Sharing opens Android's recipient chooser; delivery depends on your chosen app.
Back up and restore
Settings → Save Android backup writes every scene, selected scene and language setting as JSON. Restore accepts only a valid XSheet Android version 1 backup, up to 4 MB, through Android Files. Confirmation replaces the entire library, rather than merging scenes. One pre-restore private copy is retained and replaced on the next restoration. CSV and text reports cannot restore scenes; iOS projects are not supported. Invalid or canceled imports leave current data unchanged.
Limits and local storage
Up to 100 scenes, 500 cues per scene, 3600 scene frames, and a 4 MB library. Cue start and length each support 1–3600, allowing beyond-scene observations. Scene names, shot codes and cue labels allow 120 characters; scene notes 4000 and cue notes 2000. Records stay on this device. Android automatic backup is disabled. An unreadable library is preserved instead of silently reset. Deleting a scene removes it from the current library; older exports and a pre-restore copy may retain it. Uninstalling or clearing app data removes all private copies. Keep JSON backups outside the app.
