Make a reporting proposal.

Choose Example for a fictional nine-role studio, New map to start manually, or Import → Roster CSV. A normal first launch has no maps.
Capture baseline and give it a name. This freezes the current roles. Replacing the baseline requires confirmation; Undo Change can restore it during this session.
In Chart, select a role to edit its title, person, team, reporting parent, seat, responsibility and notes. Choose Add report for a child or Add role for a top-level role. Valid changes save automatically.
Choose Compare to inspect baseline/proposal hierarchies and changed fields. Register supports role search; Coverage lists recorded missing people/responsibilities and open seats.
Export → Proposal and complete registers PDF includes full field values across pages. The proposed roster and changed fields can be saved separately as CSV.
Export → Restorable map backup keeps the proposal, baseline, planning note and original imported file. Import → Branchroom backup creates a separately named copy. Export a backup before deleting work you need after quitting.

CSV format

Download the original fictional five-role CSV. Use UTF-8 and this exact eight-column header:

id,parent_id,title,person,team,responsibility,notes,is_open

IDs contain letters, numbers, underscore or hyphen, up to 80 characters. Leave parent_id empty for a top-level role. Other parents must refer to an existing ID; each role has one parent. is_open is true or false. Quote fields containing commas, quotation marks or newlines. Treat fields as text when opening exported CSV in a spreadsheet.

Bounds and stored work

20 maps; 150 roles per map; 64 reporting levels. CSV up to 4 MB; JSON backup up to 20 MB. Title, person and team: 160 characters; responsibility: 2,000; role notes: 4,000; planning note: 4,000. Invalid imports retain the current map. Undo Change retains up to 40 changes during the current session. External source files are not modified.

If the window was closed, choose Window → Show Branchroom or press Command-Shift-0. Saved maps remain local after quitting. The app provides no cloud or directory synchronization.
