Catchgrid support
Getting started
Create a test, choose its rows and columns, and record duration and conditions. Place equal containers at repeatable physical positions. Tap a grid position, type its measured depth and Save or Next. New tests default to 24 positions.
Import a complete measurement
Use UTF-8 CSV up to 1 MiB with this exact header:
row,column,depth,unit,test_minutes,zone
Every position must occur once, with a complete rectangle of 4–64 readings and a total divisible by four. Rows/columns are 1–8, unit is mm or in, depth is 0–150 mm equivalent, duration is 1–240 minutes. Unit, duration and zone must agree throughout the file. An invalid file leaves your existing test unchanged.
Understand the result
Mean is all depths divided by count. Lowest-quarter mean uses exactly count/4 positions; ties use row then column. DU is lowest-quarter mean divided by mean ×100. Measured rate is mean ×60 ÷ test minutes. The target-time estimate assumes that average rate stays constant. All-zero depths have undefined DU and target time.
UF/IFAS uniformity method · IA professional audit guidelines. Professional audit guidance recommends 24 or more catch containers; smaller grids here remain informal worksheets.
Compare and retain
Start a blank retest from a completed test or select another saved test with matching rows/columns in Compare. Use the same physical positions. Each position's rate uses its own duration; delta is after rate minus before rate. DU change is in percentage points. Wind, placement and other conditions are notes supplied by you, not verified causes.
Export files through Test actions. JSON backups include the active test, source bytes and one baseline snapshot; importing creates independent copies. Backups up to 4 MiB may also contain incomplete drafts. The library supports up to 500 tests within a 16 MiB workspace. Export needed backups before deleting tests or uninstalling.
Earlier Catchgrid tests
Build 6 manual runs are migrated from their existing local file without deleting that original file. They cannot acquire an original CSV retrospectively. If saved data cannot be read, the app preserves it and blocks overwriting; contact support with the visible error, without sending sensitive field records unless needed.
