Import and inspect

Import PDF opens Android’s document picker. Select a readable, unencrypted PDF up to 64 MiB, 250 pages and 5,000 image draws. The app keeps a private source copy and never rewrites its bytes. The workspace holds 15 PDFs and up to 512 MiB. Damaged, encrypted or unusually complex documents may be refused. The optional Atelier print study is a fictional PDF inspected by the same engine as imported files.

Read the measurements

Use the image arrows to select a placement and its physical source page; page arrows browse independently. Pinch the preview to zoom. Placement facts show both DPI axes, pixels, placed inches, color-space and encoding metadata. Findings can be filtered by resolution band and searched by exact page number or color-space name. Low means less than half the target, Review below the target, High above twice the target, and Within target the remaining band. Zero-sized axes are unmeasurable. These labels are numerical bands, not print approval.

Notes, targets and reports

Job notes & target accepts 36–1200 DPI and up to 2,000 note characters. Notes and targets save locally and survive reopening the app. Reports → Create PDF + CSV creates Raster-audit.pdf and Placements.csv. The source is inspected again and the results must match the saved audit. Preview each file, choose Save file and finish Android’s destination picker. File saved means the write stream closed successfully. Share opens another app and does not establish delivery. Four report sets are retained per audit; creating a fifth removes the oldest local set. Earlier-setting reports are labelled and do not change when a target changes.

Storage and recovery

Saved audits selects a private job. Audit actions can save its unchanged original PDF or delete the local audit, source copy and report history. Files already saved outside the app remain. Private work is removed by uninstalling or clearing app storage, and device backup is disabled. Keep your source files and exported reports separately. A library that fails verification is protected from overwrite. Save recovery ZIP preserves its raw state, sources and reports before an explicit reset. The ZIP is an inspection archive, not an automatic restore format; source PDFs can be extracted and imported again.

Inspection limits

Image draw geometry includes nested forms and inline images. It ignores clipping, occlusion and visibility, and excludes pattern paints and annotation appearances. Limits include 20 nested forms, 30 seconds and one million operators per page. Not a sharpness test, color-managed proof, font check, PDF/X certification or printer acceptance guarantee.
